PC & laptop repairs
Fast diagnosis and repair for desktops and laptops — screens, keyboards, power problems, overheating and the things that just won't start.
Pickering · North Yorkshire
Tell me what's wrong in your own words — no jargon needed. I'm Callum, and I've spent 8 years fixing computers and networks for homes and small businesses across North Yorkshire. I'll always tell you straight what it needs.

What I fix
And if it isn't, ask anyway — most jobs I take on start with someone not being quite sure what's wrong.
Fast diagnosis and repair for desktops and laptops — screens, keyboards, power problems, overheating and the things that just won't start.
An SSD and a bit more memory will make an old machine feel new again — usually for a fraction of what a replacement costs.
Built around what you'll actually use it for — gaming, work, editing or everyday jobs — with parts chosen to suit your budget, not to pad the bill.
Slow internet, dead spots in the back bedroom, or a home office that keeps dropping out — I'll find the cause rather than guessing at it.
Getting email working properly on all your devices, and getting the printer to behave — first time, and set up so it keeps working.
Pop-ups, browser hijacks and scam warnings cleared out properly — then set up so the same thing doesn't happen again next month.
Photos and documents you can't afford to lose, backed up properly. And if something's already gone missing, I'll do what can be done to get it back.
Your new machine set up the way you like it, with files, settings, email and programs carried across from the old one.
Smart TVs, speakers, cameras and doorbells connected and talking to each other — and to your phone — without the usual half-hour of swearing.
Ongoing help for local businesses — keeping machines, email and backups running so a bad morning doesn't turn into a lost day's trade.
A once-over to catch the things that turn into real problems later — failing drives, missing updates, and whatever's clogging up the startup.
How it works
STEP 01
Ring, WhatsApp or fill in the form. Describe it however makes sense to you — I'd rather have "it makes a funny noise" than the wrong technical term.
STEP 02
I work out what's actually wrong, then tell you what it'll cost to put right. You decide whether to go ahead. Nothing starts before you say so.
STEP 03
I sort it, then show you what was wrong in plain English — including anything you can do yourself to stop it happening again.
Pricing
No hourly meter running while you watch. I look at the job, tell you the price, and the price I quote is the price you pay.
£35 up to an hour
Sorted over the internet without anyone coming out. Best for software, email, settings and most slowdowns.
£45 includes the first hour
I come to you. Best for anything physical — hardware, Wi-Fi, printers, new setups and machines that won't start.
Quoted per build
Parts at cost plus a flat build fee, so you can see exactly what you're paying for the hardware and what you're paying me.
Charged at the official HMRC rate of 55p a mile, so you pay what the journey actually costs — not a made-up callout fee.
Somewhere not listed? Ask — I'll work it out at the same rate and tell you before you commit.
Parts are charged at cost. If a job needs a new drive or a replacement screen, you pay what I pay for it — I don't mark hardware up. Anything unexpected gets a phone call before it gets done.
Where I work
If you're a little outside these, still ask — I travel further for larger jobs and I'll tell you honestly if it isn't worth your money.
About
At Todd's Tech I provide reliable, friendly and affordable IT support for homes and small businesses. Whether it's a slow computer, network trouble, a virus, or a new device that won't play ball, my job is to take the stress out of it.
Every job is done with honest advice and clear communication. If the cheapest answer is the right one, that's the one I'll recommend — and if a machine genuinely isn't worth repairing, I'll tell you that too rather than take your money.
I'd rather explain what went wrong than leave you none the wiser. So when the work's done, I'll walk you through what happened in plain English, and what you can do yourself to keep it from coming back.
This isn't a hobby. It's the same work I do professionally, at a scale most home problems never reach.
FAQs
I provide IT support across North Yorkshire, including Pickering, Malton, Scarborough, Whitby and York. Remote support is available anywhere in the UK.
Yes. Most software problems, email issues and slowdowns can be sorted remotely, which saves you both time and the cost of a visit. You'll see everything I do on your screen, and you can end the session whenever you like.
Absolutely. I design and build custom PCs to suit what you'll actually use it for and what you want to spend. You get the full parts list before anything is ordered, and the manufacturer warranties stay in your name.
Todd's Tech runs alongside my weekday job, so I'm on the tools evenings and weekends. Message at any hour and I'll normally come back to you the same evening with a time I can get to you. Some weeks I'm on call for my main job, so I'd rather agree a slot with you than promise one I can't keep. If it's urgent — a business machine down, or a computer that won't start — ring rather than email and I'll do what I can.
Yes, thorough virus and malware removal, plus a check afterwards to make sure nothing's been left behind. I'll also set things up so you're less likely to pick something up again.
Then you don't pay for my time. If a machine is beyond economical repair I'll tell you straight, explain why, and help you work out what to do next — including getting your files off it.
Protecting your data comes first. Wherever there's any risk to your files, I'll take a copy before I start work, and I'll always talk to you before doing anything that can't be undone.
Often, and it's some of my favourite work. There's no such thing as a daft question here. I'll explain things at whatever pace suits you and write down anything worth remembering.
Get in touch
Fill this in and it'll come straight to me. Or if you'd rather just talk to someone, ring or WhatsApp — that's usually quicker.
Todd's Tech runs alongside my weekday job, so I work evenings and weekends — which is when most people actually need me, without having to book a day off.
Some weeks I'm on call for that job, so rather than promise a slot I might not be able to keep, I'll agree a time with you first and stick to it.
Message any time, day or night. I'll come back to you with when I can get to you — usually the same evening.
